BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

SINGAPORE -- Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 48 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 57,454.

Of the new cases, five are imported cases, and there are no community cases.

BAGHDAD -- The Iraqi Health Ministry on Monday reported that 4,169 new COVID-19 cases were detected during the day, bringing the total nationwide infections to 294,478.

Meanwhile, a statement by the ministry said that 4,427 recovered from COVID-19 during the day, the highest in a single day since the outbreak of the disease, raising the tally of recoveries to 229,132.

MUSCAT -- The Omani Health Ministry on Monday announced 476 new COVID-19 infections, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 90,222, the official Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

Meanwhile, 157 people recovered during the past 24 hours, taking the overall number of recoveries to 83,928, while 10 new deaths were reported, raising the tally to 790, according to a ministry statement quoted by ONA.

BEIJING -- China's box-office revenue has hit 5 billion yuan (about 733 million U.S. dollars) by Monday since theaters reopened on July 20 following months of closure due to COVID-19.

Epic war drama "The Eight Hundred," formally released on Aug. 21, contributed more than half of the total, grossing over 2.6 billion yuan as of Monday, data compiled by Maoyan, a movie-ticketing and film data platform, showed.

MOSCOW -- Russia registered 5,509 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking its nationwide total to 1,068,320, the country's COVID-19 response center said in a statement Monday.

Meanwhile, 57 new deaths were reported, taking the death toll to 18,635, it said.

TEHRAN -- The total number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in Iran on Monday reached 404,648, after an overnight registration of 2,619 patients, the Iranian Ministry for Health and Medical Education announced.

Sima Sadat Lari, the spokeswoman for the ministry, pointed out that out of the new patients, 1,382 people required hospitalization.

The pandemic has so far claimed the lives of 23,313 people in Iran, after 156 new deaths over the novel coronavirus were registered in the last 24 hours, according to Sadat Lari.

DHAKA -- Bangladesh reported 1,812 new COVID-19 cases and 26 more deaths on Monday, bring the number of total cases to 339,332 and the number of total deaths to 4,759, the Directorate General of Health Services said.
