DALAD BANNER, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- The large-scale photovoltaic power station in the Kubuqi Desert in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region will help reduce tonnes of carbon emissions every year.

"PV panels can also weaken the force of the wind so that the sand below the panels won't move. The base can help stop the expansion of the desert," said a local officer.

The Dalad PV Power Base was approved by the National Energy Administration in November 2017. The construction of the base has been divided into three projects. The first project has joined the national power grid since 2018.
