ZAGREB, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Reigning world discus champion Daniel Stahl grabbed another title this season with a 68.87m throw at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting in Zagreb, Croatia on Tuesday.

The Swede, who saw his 15-competition winning streak snapped last weekend, achieved his longest throw in the second round at the Sports Park Mladost, where a crowd of only 700 was allowed in amid public health concerns.

Although short of his world-leading 71.37m set in August, the result was enough for him to edge Andrius Gudzius of Lithuania (68.22m), who had ended Stahl's unbeaten run in Berlin, and set a new meeting record.

"It was a great battle today," Stahl told World Athletics' official website. "This has been a great season even though it was a complicated season - I competed even more this year than last. Next year is an Olympic year and I'm really looking forward to that one."

The Continental Tour Gold will move to Nairobi, Kenya on October 3, for the final meet of this season's series. Enditem
