HEFEI, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- East China's Anhui Province has terminated its flood emergency response since Tuesday, local authorities said on Wednesday.
The decision was made after the water levels of all the main rivers, their branches, and lakes across the province have fallen beneath the warning lines.
Authorities required all departments in the province to focus on post-flood recovery and reconstruction work, closely monitor changes in weather and water regimes, and strengthen measures of forecasting, warnings, and emergency rescue, in a bid to protect people and their property and ensure safety and water supply.
The flood emergency period in Anhui lasted for 85 days. On June 23, the province declared a flood emergency beginning from level IV, the lowest of China's four-tier flood control emergency response system, and it raised the response to the highest level I on July 18. Enditem
