Vietnam records 2 new COVID-19 cases, 1,068 in total

HANOI, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam reported two new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing its total confirmed cases to 1,068 with 35 deaths from the disease so far, according to the Ministry of Health.

The two cases, who are both 36 years old, have recently entered Vietnam from abroad and were quarantined upon arrival, said the ministry.

One more patient has recovered, raising the total cured cases to 941 as of Friday, according to the ministry.

Meanwhile, more than 31,300 people are being quarantined and monitored in the country, the ministry said.

Vietnam has gone through more than two weeks without any COVID-19 cases in the community, according to the ministry. Enditem
