Afghanistan reports 22 new COVID-19 cases

KABUL, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan reported 22 new COVID-19 cases within the past 24 hours on Saturday, bringing the total tally to 38,919 cases, the country's Ministry of Public Health confirmed.

During the past 24 hours, 95 suspected cases were tested in several provinces of the country's 32 provinces, the ministry said in a statement.

The new cases were detected in northern Balkh, and eastern Nangarhar and Kunar provinces, according to the statement.

No recovery and death have been registered during the period.

About 95 patients remained in severe condition, according to the statement.

The ministry has conducted 108,193 tests since February, according to statistics of the ministry. Enditem
