Malaysia reports 20 new COVID-19 cases, another death

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia reported 20 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the national total to 10,167, the health ministry said on Saturday.

Health Ministry Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a press statement that three of the new cases are imported and 17 are local transmissions.

Another 51 patients have been released after recovery, bringing the total cured and discharged to 9,315, or 91.6 percent of all cases.

Of the remaining 722 active cases, 12 are being held in intensive care units and two of them are in need of assisted breathing.

One new death has been reported, bringing the total tally to 130. Enditem
