MOSCOW, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Russia's antimonopoly watchdog said Monday it had issued a second warning to Booking.com, demanding the global online reservation website stop banning hotels from offering better conditions than agreed upon between the hotels and the company.

Booking.com uses its dominant position to impose deliberately unfavorable terms of contract, which could lead to infringement of the interests of hotels as well as weakening market competition, the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) said.

The FAS noted failure to comply with its warning by Oct. 18 will lead to a violation of Russian antimonopoly laws.

The second warning came after the company's failure to comply with the first warning, which was issued on Nov. 12, 2019 after a complaint by the all-Russian non-governmental organization of small and medium-sized businesses. Enditem
