Georgia reports record-high 218 new COVID-19 cases

TBILISI, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Georgia has reported a record 218 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, the highest number since the outbreak of the virus in the country, bringing its total to 3,913.

Among the new cases, 137 were confirmed in the western Adjara region, the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health said.

As of Tuesday, 1,574 of the 3,913 patients have recovered, while 22 others have died, said the center.

Georgia reported first confirmed case on Feb. 26. Enditem
