BEIJING, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

BISHKEK -- Almost 92 percent of Kyrgyzstan's COVID-19 patients have recovered, the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19 said Wednesday.

According to the latest report from the headquarters, 88 new cases of the disease have been recorded over the last day, raising the tally of infections to 45,630.

YANGON -- Myanmar reported 334 new COVID-19 confirmed cases on Wednesday night, according to a release from the Ministry of Health and Sports.

The newly confirmed cases brought the total number of infections in the country to 7,292.

MALE -- Maldives President Ibrahim Solih has ratified a bill introducing guidelines against the COVID-19 pandemic, state media reported here Wednesday.

Solih ratified the COVID-19 Special Provisions Bill which introduces guidelines such as providing assistance to struggling families, temporary shelter to prevent homelessness and special leave policies for employees inconvenienced by travel restrictions in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

NAIROBI -- Kenya is set to launch a 10 billion shilling (about 92 million U.S. dollars) micro, small and medium enterprises credit guarantee scheme in October to boost post COVID-19 economic recovery, a government official said Wednesday.

Albert Mwenda, acting director-general, budget fiscal and economic affairs, National Treasury, told a meeting in Nairobi that the government is prioritizing facilitating small firms due to their significant contribution to the gross domestic product.

NEW DELHI -- Deputy chief minister of Indian capital city New Delhi Manish Sisodia was hospitalized Wednesday, officials said.
