BEIJING, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Spanish midfielder Dani Quintana scored the winning goal in stoppage time of the second half, helping Chengdu Better City beat Suzhou Dongwu 2-1 in the 4th round of China's second-tier league on Thursday.
Chengdu was the only side who had pocketed three wins consecutively in the first three rounds of the league.
Suzhou opened the scoring with a low drive in the penalty area from Nigerian Chris Shimbayev through a corner kick, but it was ruled out for offside. Both sides posed threats to the other, but no goals were scored in the first half.
Chengdu broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute with a low drive from Serbian forward Nikola Djurdjic at close range to make it 1-0.
Suzhou pulled one back in the 60th minute with an accurate cross from midfielder Li Haowen, assisting forward Tang Chuang to score an open goal.
