JERUSALEM, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Israeli outfit Hapoel Beer Sheva reached the play-off round of the UEFA Europa League after beating Scotland's Motherwell 3-0 on Thursday evening.

The single-leg match was played behind closed doors in the city of Petah Tikva, after Beer Sheva's Turner Stadium was closed last month amid structural concerns.

Beer Sheva scored their first goal in the 43rd minute, with Portuguese defender Miguel Vitor heading home from compatriot Josue's accurate pass.

Josue's penalty doubled Beer Sheva's lead in the 71st minute, after Vitor was fouled in the area by Motherwell defender Declan Gallagher, who was sent off for a second yellow card.

Beer Sheva's Dutch forward Elton Acolatse completed the scoring in the 83rd minute from Sintyahu Sallalich's assist.

Beer Sheva now face Czech side Viktoria Plzen in a single-leg match to be played in Israel on October 1, with the winners entering the competition's group stage. Enditem
