DALIAN, China, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Jiangsu Suning defeated Shenzhen FC 1-0 in the 14th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) here on Sunday, winning a ticket to the second phase.

Both Suning and Shenzhen showcased aggressiveness at the beginning of the first half, with Teixeira Santos's header parried by Morteza Pouraliganji in the third minute. Shenzhen's Gao Lin shot to strike back three minutes later but failed to score.

With Ji Xiang's smart side volley and Zhang Boyu's header successively missed target in Shenzhen's offense, Suning led off a more fierce attack. In the 28th minute, Teixeira made full use of Li Ang's penalty and helped Suning take a 1-0 lead.

The second half saw more frequent attacks and stronger defense from Shenzhen, who however had more shoots but less hit rate. With the advantage that Suning's defender Zhang Boyu was send off for a foul in the 62nd minute, Shenzhen still failed to equalize. Enditem
