TOKYO, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) is still not trading at the end of what would have been the morning session at 11:30 a.m. local time Thursday due to a system glitch, the Japan Exchange Group Inc. said.

Trading has been halted in all shares listed on the TSE since Thursday morning due to a problem with the system, the group said.

The bourse said it had identified a glitch related to transmitting trading data and receiving trading orders, but has as yet been unable to confirm when trading will resume.

The Tokyo bourse's off-hours trading has also been halted, officials said, adding that trading has also been suspended at bourses in Sapporo, Nagoya and Fukuoka.

The Japan Exchange Group said that the Tokyo Commodity Exchange has not been affected by the technical issue, however, and Futures trading on the Osaka Exchange began as usual on Thursday.

The halted exchanges were due to start trading at 9:00 a.m. local time and according to local media reports the glitch that has affected trading has significantly impacted the 3,700 companies listed on the TSE alone.

The technical glitch and subsequent suspensions are also affecting numerous businesses and individual investors, according to local media. Enditem
