BOGOTA, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 infections in Colombia rose to 877,683 in the past 24 hours after tests detected 7,875 new cases, the Health Ministry said Wednesday.
The death toll climbed to 27,180 after 163 more fatalities were reported, said the ministry.
A total of 773,973 patients have so far recovered, it added.
Health Minister Fernando Ruiz said Wednesday that the vaccine that Colombia may acquire through the COVAX, a global initiative aimed at ensuring COVID-19 vaccine availability, will also be applied to people who have had the disease. Enditem
