A photovoltaic (PV) agriculture project in northwest China's Ningxia has generated green electricity and increased income. The project which combines PV power generation and ecological agriculture was launched by Baofeng Energy Company. It includes a large goji berry farm and a PV system with 1 gigawatt peak (GWp) of solar power capacity. The company creates 80,000 jobs a year, and a farmer earns an annual income of over 40,000 yuan (6,000 USD). The PV agriculture model contributes to green development and poverty alleviation.
