Iran's nuke chief tests positive for COVID-19

TEHRAN, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- The head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi has contracted novel coronavirus, the public relations department of the AEOI confirmed on Sunday.

Salehi was tested positive for the virus last week and since then he is under homecare, said the report.

"The general health condition of Salehi is favorable and he is constantly following up AEOI affairs," said the report.

Since Feb. 19 when the outbreak of pandemic was announced in Iran, the country has registered a total of 496,253 infection cases of whom 28,293 have died. Enditem
