Arab League chief says committed to supporting Iraq against "foreign intervention"

CAIRO, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit on Monday expressed the league's full commitment to supporting Iraq against "foreign intervention," the Cairo-based pan-Arab organization said in a statement.

Aboul-Gheit's remarks came during a meeting with the Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein to tackle the recent Iraqi and regional developments.

The AL chief reiterated his organization's commitment to providing further support to Iraq in maintaining the sovereignty and unity of its territories.

Aboul-Gheit stressed the pan-Arab organization's rejection against intervention in the Arab countries' domestic affairs in all shapes and from any sources.
