FUZHOU, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- A conference on the grain trade will be held later this month in Fuzhou, capital of east China's Fujian Province, authorities said on Tuesday.

The China Grain Trade Conference (CGTC), scheduled to run from Oct. 19 to 21, will include exhibitions of grain and oil products and technical equipment, business talks and related forums, according to the provincial food and strategic reserves administration.

Promotional activities will be organized both online and offline, with livestreaming arranged to sell products online.

The conference is aimed at implementing the national grain security strategy, deepening grain supply-side structural reform, strengthening cooperation between grain producers and sellers, launching quality grain projects, promoting the high-quality development of the grain industry, and improving the national capacity to guarantee grain security.

It will be the third CGTC, with the previous two held in 2018 and 2019 in the cities of Harbin and Zhengzhou, respectively.

As the world's top food producer and consumer, China saw its grain output hit a record high of 664 million tonnes last year, the 16th consecutive bumper year. Enditem
