Huang Maurice, a first grader at the Xianggang Putonghua Yanxishe Primary School of Science and Creativity in Hong Kong, can recite ancient Chinese poets in Mandarin or "Putonghua", the standard spoken Chinese. Founded in 2001, the Xianggang Putonghua Yanxishe Primary School of Science and Creativity is the first government-subsidized school in Hong Kong to use Mandarine to teach courses. So far, there are no more than five such primary schools in Hong Kong. So far, the Xianggang Putonghua Yanxishe Primary School of Science and Creativity has had more than 2,000 graduates, who have become "seeds" and "messengers" for the promotion of Putonghua in Hong Kong.
