Zhengjiang and Kunshan enter promotion group in China's League One

MEIZHOU, China, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Zhejiang Energy Greentown smashed Liaoning Shenyang Urban 5-1 in the last round of Meizhou Division of League One, the second-tier football league in China on Thursday, while Kunshan FC got a 1-0 victory over Xinjiang Tianshan Leopard to rank second in Changzhou Division.

Zhejiang and Kunshan secured the last two seats of the six-team promotion group. They will join Chengdu Better City, Taizhou Yuanda, Meizhou Hakka and Changchun Yatai, the first two teams from each group after 10 rounds, to fight for the opportunities to enter the Chinese Super League. The promotion group will be played in Chengdu.

In the Chengdu division, Chengdu Better City edged off Inner Mongolia Zhongyou 1-0, ending the first phase of China League One with 25 points in eight wins, one draw and one loss. Taizhou Yuanda defeated Beijing Renhe 2-1 on Wednesday thanks to one goal and one assist from Cheng Yuan. Beijing BSU cruised through Suzhou Dongwu 4-0.

In the other matches in the Meizhou division, Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic lost to top seed Meizhou Hakka 3-2 after Liang Ruoheng's winning header in the 75th minute, missing the promotion chance, while Guizhou Hengfeng tied with Jiangxi Liansheng 1-1.

In Changzhou division, Changchun Yatai ended three-match winning streak after a 1-1 draw with Sichuan Jiuniu. Nantong Zhiyun tied with Heilongjiang Lava Spring.

Besides the promotion group, the rest 12 teams will be divided into two relegation groups.
