4 killed, 1 missing in car accident in Myanmar's eastern state

YANGON, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Four people were killed and one is still missing in a car crash in Myanmar's Shan State, state-run media reported on Monday.

The accident took place near Naunghin village of Muse District at 9 a.m. local time on Sunday.

A car with seven people on board fell into the Shweli river as the driver lost control of the car. The driver and two women managed to escape from the sinking vehicle but one died at the hospital.

Meanwhile, other three women and one child were assumed to be trapped in the vehicle.

The bodies of three women were found at 1 p.m. local time on Sunday and one child was still missing.

The search operation was still ongoing. Enditem
