BRATISLAVA, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Having entered the Slovak ice-hockey premiership Tipos Extraliga as late as in its fifth round, Kosice Hockey Club received a 5-3 defeat from HKM Zvolen.

Although the Tipos Extraliga refused to take a break amidst the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic that has been hitting Slovakia in October, it can only let teams with players and staff testing negative battle it out on the ice.

Thus Kosice was among the teams that had to follow quarantine protocol.

However, the team from the east of the country was welcomed into the season with a merciless barrage of five straight goals on Zvolen's behalf.

Although not giving up and trying to mount a comeback in the last period, Kosice still failed with only three goals scored.

Zvolen's 21-year-old forward Milos Kelemen led the scoring with two goals and one assist.

"I have been struggling to score in the previous matches so I asked my masseur to pick a new hockey-stick for me, and it apparently worked," said Kelemen after the game. Enditem
