DAMASCUS, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Dozens of Turkish vehicles left Syria's central province of Hama on Tuesday as part of the withdrawal of Turkey's forces, a war monitor reported.

The Turkish vehicles, carrying military and logistic materials, left a large Turkish base in the town of Morek in the northern countryside of Hama toward the northwestern province of Idlib, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Meanwhile, a video obtained by Xinhua showed the Turkish truckloads of military gear and equipment leaving the Turkish base escorted by Russian military vehicles.

A day earlier, the Observatory said Turkish forces will withdraw from Morek and Shir Maghar in the northern and western countryside of Hama as well as from other six positions in the eastern and southeastern countryside of Idlib.

Information has it that the Turkish forces might also withdraw from their positions within government-controlled areas in the countryside of the northern province of Aleppo, according to the Britain-based watchdog.

The withdrawal is part of an agreement between Russia and Turkey.

Turkey has maintained several bases in the countryside of Hama and Idlib as part of previous agreements with Russia to observe a cease-fire between the Syrian forces and the rebels. However, the Syrian army captured several areas in the two provinces, pushing the Turkish forces to prepare for withdrawal. Enditem
