ZHUJI, China, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Qingdao Eagles beat the Guangzhou Loong Lions 112-88 thanks to 26 points from sophomore shooter Wang Ruize, getting the second straight victory in the ongoing 2020-2021 season of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Tuesday.
Wang made six three-pointers. Five other Qingdao players took home double digits in points. Wang Qingming and Shao Yinglun had 14 and 13 points respectively.
Qingdao entered the game with a 7-0 spurt, and extended the advantage to 14 points in less than five minutes. Guangzhou fought hard to find the basket, allowing Qingdao to finish the first quarter 59-40.
Guangzhou cut the deficit to 13 points in the earlier half of the third period, only to see Qingdao move ahead again and wrap up the victory.
