YANGON, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 21.98 kilograms of heroin in the Sagaing region, according to a release by the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Friday.
The heroin worth 2.19 billion kyats (about 1.69 million U.S. dollars) were seized from a vehicle in the Kalewa township late Thursday, the release said.
A suspect was arrested by the township police, and further investigation is being carried out in efforts to capture five other suspects who fled the scene. Enditem
