An under-sea tunnel is being constructed at Shantou Bay in Shantou, China. The tunnel is 6,680 meters long, and the section under the sea extends 3,047 meters. It is designed with 6 lanes in both directions and a max speed of 60 kilometers per hour. The under-sea section of the tunnel was drilled through in August this year. It's expected to be put into operation before November 2021.
