Drug traffickers arrested in E. Afghan province: police

JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Counter-Narcotics Police of Afghanistan (CNPA) arrested two men in eastern Nangarhar for trafficking narcotic drugs on Saturday, local police said.

"Two individuals were arrested for trafficking charges of over 18,400 Tablet-K in Turkham border port of Nangarhar Saturday morning," provincial police office said in a statement.

The duo, who hid the opiate inside a trailer truck traveling to the provincial capital Jalalabad city, have confessed to their crimes, following the first police investigation, said the statement.

The Tablet-K is the street name for a drug with stimulant effects often sold in Afghanistan. Enditem
