ULAN BATOR, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia's State Emergency Commission (SEC) on Monday decided to extend the country's heightened state of readiness by two months until the end of December amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The extension is part of the efforts to prevent the spread of the virus, the SEC said in a statement.
As of Monday, Mongolia has confirmed 339 COVID-19 cases, with 312 recoveries.
The country has so far registered no local transmissions or deaths. Most infections were imported from neighboring Russia.
Mongolia entered its heightened state of readiness in mid-February, with measures including suspension of international passenger flights. Enditem
