LONDON, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 1.17 percent, or 68.27 points, to close at 5,792.01 points.
Pearson, a British multinational publishing and education company, soared 2.97 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. AstraZeneca and BT Group increased by 1.69 percent and 1.43 percent, respectively.
International Consolidated Airlines Group, an Anglo-Spanish multinational airline holding company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 7.61 percent.
