BAKU, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Azerbaijani authorities said the country's central district of Barda came under a missile attack from the Armenian armed forces on Tuesday, which resulted in heavy casualties.
At least four civilians, including a seven-year-old girl, were killed and 13 others wounded as shells fired by the Armenian side hit several houses, reported Azerbaijan's state-run news agency AZERTAC, citing law-enforcement authorities.
However, Armenia's defense ministry spokesperson Shushan Stepanyan denied the report on her Facebook page.
Meanwhile, local Armenpress reported that a total of 39 civilians in the Nagorno-Karabakh region were killed since the conflicts broke out on Sept 27, quoting statistics from the local Ombudsman office.

It is already a third ceasefire since heavy fighting broke out between the two countries late last month in a fresh escalation of the decades-long Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
