U.S. school bus crash leaves two dead, several injured

WASHINGTON, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- A school bus collided with a utility vehicle in the U.S. state of Tennessee on Tuesday, leaving two people dead, including a 7-year-old girl, according to U.S. media.

The accident occurred on a state highway in Meigs County when the school bus carrying 22 children failed to stop in time and clashed with the vehicle of Service Electric Company.

The driver and a 7-year-old girl on the school bus died in the crash, and several other children were injured and sent to hospitals, while the driver of the utility vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Local health authorities said there was a "critical need" for blood donations to the injured.

Tennessee Highway Patrol said it was investigating the crash. Enditem
