SEOUL, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Sentiment among South Korean consumers over economic situations rebounded this month due to the eased worry about the COVID-19 pandemic, central bank data showed Wednesday.
Composite consumer sentiment index (CCSI) advanced 12.2 points over the month to 91.6 in October, after sliding from 88.2 to 79.4 in the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).
The COVID-19 resurged here in August and September owing to cluster infections linked to church services and a massive rally in central Seoul on Aug. 15.
Amidst the lower number of COVID-19 cases in October, the government eased its social-distancing guidelines this month, contributing to the improved consumer confidence.
Inflation expectations, which gauge outlook among consumers for headline inflation for the next 12 months, stood at 1.83 percent in October, down from 1.86 percent in the previous month.
