ZHUJI, China, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Liaoning Flying Leopards overwhelmed the Tianjin Pioneers 119-91 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Wednesday.
Liaoning took the initiative in the first quarter thanks to its American defender O.J. Mayo who contributed 11 points with four rebounds and two three-pointers, establishing a 37-10 lead over Tianjin.
Tianjin managed to break even 34-34 in the second quarter, but still remained 27 points behind.
With the help of center Marko Todorovic, Tianjin narrowed the gap by eight points in the third quarter. The last quarter saw stronger counterattack from Liaoning, who outscored Tianjin 28-19 to seal the victory.
O.J. Mayo pocketed Liaoning's team-high 36 points with 10 rebounds, and teammate Liu Zhixuan also notched a double-double of 14 points and 11 assists.
Tianjin's Marko Todorovic won 25 points with 12 rebounds and four assists, to take the MVP title of the game. Enditem
