KATHMANDU, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Bilateral trade between Nepal and China through the Tatopani-Zhangmu border point resumed on Thursday, after a hiatus of more than three weeks, an official of Nepal's border customs office said.

Rasuwagadhi-Kerung (Geelong), another border point, had been reopened late last month. With the reopening of the Tatopani-Zhangmu border point, bilateral trade through both land routes has resumed. The two border points had been closed earlier amid COVID-19 concerns.

"A Chinese container entered into Nepal, carrying Nepal-bound goods on Thursday," Lal Bahadur Khatri, chief customs officer at Tatopani Customs Office, told Xinhua on Thursday. "A Chinese container carries goods equivalent to two Nepali containers."

He said that more Chinese containers will deliver goods to Nepal from Friday, with the Nepali side preparing space to accommodate Chinese containers at a location near the border point. Enditem
