Peru highlights importance of confronting COVID-19 globally

LIMA, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Peruvian Foreign Minister Mario Lopez said on Thursday before the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) that the international community must respond to the challenges created by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Lopez participated virtually in the OECD Council Meeting, which was held Wednesday through Thursday.

Lopez spoke on his country's concerns and the measures applied by the Peruvian government to face the health emergency, stressing the need for cooperation to achieve a resilient, green, and inclusive recovery.

Peru has reported 894,928 cases and 34,315 deaths from COVID-19 to date. Enditem
