BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- The leading Party members group of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee held a meeting Friday to study the guiding principles of the fifth plenary session of the 19th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.
The plenary session, held in Beijing from Oct. 26 to 29, adopted the Party leadership's proposals for formulating the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035, charting the course for China's development in the next 15 years.
Participants of Friday's meeting agreed that the plenary session is an important meeting making strategic decisions on embarking on a journey to fully build a modern socialist China.
The Party leadership's proposals serve as a guiding document for fully building a modern socialist China, said the participants.
Building a modern socialist China has been a long-term goal for the Party since the founding of the People's Republic of China and the proposals for formulating the 14th Five-Year Plan demonstrate this consistency, the participants agreed.
The proposals, at the same time, also put forward the new connotation of a new development stage and clarifies the new ideas for building a new development pattern, said the participants.
At present, and for a period of time to come, studying and following the spirit of the session shall be an important political mission for the leading Party members group of the CPPCC National Committee and the spirit shall be implemented during the work of the CPPCC, stressed the participants.
