2 terrorists of banned outfit killed in Pakistan's Punjab

ISLAMABAD, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Police killed two terrorists of a banned outfit in an encounter in the wee hours of Saturday morning in Dera Ghazi Khan district of Pakistan's eastern Punjab province, local media reported.

According to the reports, personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department of police raided a compound in Sakhi Sarwar area of the district but terrorists present inside opened fire at the police party.

Police personnel retaliated the firing and killed two terrorists in the cross-firing on the spot. At least two other terrorists reportedly took advantage of the darkness and managed to run away.

No police personnel sustained injuries in the encounter.

Rescue teams shifted the bodies of the terrorists to the district hospital.

Police confiscated automatic guns, hand grenades and hundreds of bullets from the compound, according to the reports.

Police told media that the terrorists entered the district from Balochistan province and were planning to attack law enforcement personnel. Enditem
