SANTIAGO, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- More than half a million people in Chile have recovered from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Chilean Minister of Health Enrique Paris said on Tuesday.
Some 523,907 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the South American country since the onset of the outbreak here, and of those, 500,142 have recovered, said Paris.
The positivity rate in the past 24 hours has been 4.53 percent nationwide and 2 percent in the capital Santiago and metropolitan area, while the number of new cases declined by 4 percent in the past two weeks, he said.
In its daily report, the Ministry of Health said the COVID-19 death toll stands at 14,611. Enditem
