TOKYO, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Wednesday as the Dow Jones Industrial Average gaining ground overnight buoyed the market mood, despite the Nasdaq Composite struggling as U.S. tech shares weighed.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 292.00 points, or 1.17 percent, from Tuesday to 25,197.59.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, climbed 22.07 points, or 1.30 percent, at 1,722.87.
Insurance, nonferrous metal and rubber product-linked issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell. Enditem
