DAR ES SALAAM, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- One student was killed on the spot and three others were seriously injured when a car knocked them down on Thursday morning in Tanzania's Muheza district in Tanga region.
Blasius Chatanda, Tanga regional police commander, said the car hit the students at 8 a.m. local time when they were walking to their school named Chief Mang'enya secondary school.
"Police have identified the killed student as 16-year-old Mariam Mubaraka who was in Form Three," Chatanda told a news conference in the Indian Ocean coastal city of Tanga.
He said the three injured students were rushed to Bombo government hospital for specialized treatment. Enditem
