MINSK, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- A mask mandate is being introduced in Belarusian capital Minsk to stem the spread of coronavirus, the city authorities said on Thursday.

The decision will apply to all employees and visitors of all city facilities without exception. It is also mandatory to wear masks in public transport, metro and taxis, the local authority said.

The decision obliges heads of organizations of all forms of ownership to take the necessary measures to comply with the sanitary and anti-epidemic measures.

The mask mandate will operate "until the epidemiological situation stabilizes."

A mask mandate was also introduced in the entire Gomel region and some other regions and cities.
