German shares almost unchanged at start of trading Tuesday

BERLIN, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- German stocks were almost unchanged at the start of trading on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index losing 9.07 points, or 0.06 percent, opening at 13,130.54 points.

The biggest winner among Germany's largest 30 companies at the start of trading was sportswear manufacturer Adidas, increasing by 0.98 percent, followed by online food delivery company Delivery Hero with 0.75 percent and chipmaker Infineon with 0.65 percent.

German private bank Berenberg raised the price target for Adidas from 290 to 310 euros (about 344 to 368 U.S. dollars) on Monday after trading and left the rating at "Buy." Shares of the German sportswear manufacturer were trading at around 277 euros (about 329 dollars) at the start of trading on Tuesday.

Shares of MTU Aero Engines fell by 0.39 percent. The German aircraft engine manufacturer was the biggest loser at the start of trading on Tuesday.

In the third quarter, the total number of employees in Germany declined slightly by 0.1 percent compared to the previous quarter to around 44.7 million, according to the country's Federal Statistical Office.

The yield on German ten-year bonds went down 0.002 percentage point to minus 0.547 percent, and the euro was trading almost unchanged at 1.1856 U.S. dollars, decreasing by 0.01 percent on Tuesday morning. Enditem
