RAMALLAH, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- A senior Palestinian official said on Tuesday that the Palestinian government would prosecute companies operating in Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territory.
Palestinian Minister of Justice Mohammed al-Shalaldeh told "Voice of Palestine" that the Palestinian cabinet assigned two ministries to initiate prosecuting companies, which work and operate in the Israeli settlements.
"The cabinet decided to assign the Palestinian ministries of justice and foreign affairs to initiate practical steps of accountability and legal prosecution of these companies," al-Shalaldeh said.
He added that the Palestinian move is based on the United Nations blacklist, issued in February, of Israeli and international companies and economic entities operating in the Israeli settlements. Enditem
