JAKARTA, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Two people died and thousands others were displaced after floods hit 46 villages in Indonesia's Central Java province, a local official said on Thursday.

Heru Kurniawan, head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of Cilacap District Disaster Management Agency, said the floods had been triggered by heavy rains since Tuesday with overflown rivers.

The two dead victims were residents of Kertajaya village, Gandrungmangu district.

The flood also displaced 1,323 families, or 3,811 people.

"In several villages, the floods have started to recede, but the waters have inundated other villages," Kurniawan said.

The Cilacap District Disaster Management Agency has distributed logistics and has set up an open air kitchen for the evacuees. Enditem
