BEIJING, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Some bamboo slips have revealed a brand-new astrological system in ancient China.
Tsinghua University's Unearthed Research and Protection Center released photos of the bamboo slips in compilation books on Friday. The books include five literary works written on bamboo slips that have never been seen in public before. One of them, called Sishi, provides information about a new astrological system during the Warring States Period (475 B.C.-221 B.C.).
Sishi lists the detailed information of stars on specific dates of each month, in addition to the conditions of clouds, rain and winds.
Other literary works on the bamboo slips also include content on divination and prescriptions for curing illnesses.
In 2008, Tsinghua University collected about 2,500 bamboo slips of the Warring States Period. Since 2011, the university's Unearthed Research and Protection Center has been compiling the bamboo slips in books for issuance to the public. Enditem
