BEIJING, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 jolted 24 km WSW of Azzaba, Algeria at 4:53 on Sunday morning local time (0353 GMT), the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 36.6296 degrees north latitude and 6.8673 degrees east longitude.
Preliminary seismic data indicated that the shallow quake should have been widely felt by almost everyone in the area of the epicenter, along with moderate damage to light.
No damage or casualties have been reported so far.
Earlier in March this year, a 5.0-magnitude earthquake jolted 25km SSE of El Eulma, Algeria.
