An inspection robot can work 25 times faster than a human worker, according to a transformer substation in Urumqi City, northwest China's Xinjiang. The robot can inspect underground cables and provide real-time data via wireless technology, which is dangerous and labor-intensive for humans. Equipped with infrared cameras, humidity and gas sensors, it has functions of video surveillance, infrared thermal imaging, environmental monitoring, among others.
