German shares gain 0.60 pct at start of trading Monday

BERLIN, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- German stocks were off to a good start on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index rising by 78.19 points, or 0.60 percent, opening at 13,215.44 points.

The biggest winner among Germany's 30 largest listed companies at the start of trading was aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero Engines, increasing by 1.64 percent, followed by technology giant Siemens with 1.61 percent and chemical giant BASF with 1.60 percent.

Shares of Delivery Hero fell by 0.54 percent. The German online food delivery company was the biggest loser at the start of trading on Monday.

The yield on German ten-year bonds went up 0.006 percentage points to minus 0.578 percent, and the euro was trading almost unchanged at 1.1859 U.S. dollars, increasing by 0.03 percent on Monday morning. Enditem
