JAKARTA, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia posted a state budget deficit of 764.9 trillion rupiahs (about 54.15 billion U.S dollars), or 4.67 percent of the GDP in the January-October period 2020, according to the Ministry of Finance on Monday.

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the state revenue for 10 months was down by 15.4 percent to 1,276.9 trillion rupiahs (about 90.39 billion dollars), compared to 1,508.5 trillion rupiahs (about 106.78 billion dollars) in the same period last year.

The total state revenue was only 75.1 percent of the target of 1,699.9 trillion rupiahs (about 120.34 billion dollars).

Meanwhile, the 10-month state expenditure this year grew by 13.6 percent or 2,041.8 trillion rupiahs (about 144.54 billion dollars), compared to 1,797.7 rupiahs (about 127.26 billion dollars) in the same period last year.

The increase in the state expenditure, Indrawati added, was due to the high government spending to handle the COVID-19 pandemic. Enditem
